I have recently bought a new wide screen tv and found that I was unable to get surround sound since my current receiver did not have any HDMI connections. I mentioned to my son what I was doing & he told me about this product. I ordered the product which was delivered much quicker than I expected. The instructions are pretty small and hard to read, but really weren't needed. I connected the TV, cable box, and Blu-ray to the slots provided and then ran a digital optical cable to the receiver & had surround sound. As read in some other reviews, there is a slight lag time when you first change the channels, but it is really nothing to concern yourself with.
